FAQ

When Is the 2024 iKamper CAMPOUT

August 9-11, 2024.

Where is the 2024 iKamper CAMPOUT?

iKamper’s CAMPOUT festival is moving to Black Oak Ranch in Northern California.

US-101

Laytonville, CA 95454

When can campers arrive?

Gates open up at 8am on Friday, August 9th

When will campers need to depart?

We'll be organizing a redwoods scenic drive on the Avenue of the Giants Sunday with the entire community, departing at 12:00pm. No pressure to join the drive, but you will need to leave the CAMPOUT grounds at this time.

Do I have to own an iKamper to attend?

This festival is a celebration of the iKamper community. We request that attendees own an iKamper or be a guest of an iKamper owner. If you are arriving in separate vehicles, please use the buddy system and check in together.

How does the festival work? Tell me about the check-in protocol.

The entrance to Black Oak Ranch will be well marked with signs directing you to check-in for CAMPOUT. When you arrive, the iKamper Team will greet you and show you the way to your campsite for the weekend! We're all here to have a great time together so don’t be shy. Introduce yourself to your neighbors and make some new friends!

Am I able to choose my own campsite? Can I reserve space for friends and big groups?

Each CAMPOUT Vehicle Admission ticket secures your reservation for one campsite. There will be room for one vehicle + one ground tent OR your iKamper Annex / Awning (Apx: 20x20 ft). Campsites aren't assigned and attendees will be able to select their site upon arrival on a first come, first served basis.

Are dogs allowed at CAMPOUT? / Can I bring my dog?

It wouldn’t be a celebration of the iKamper community without our trusty sidekicks! Dogs are welcome at CAMPOUT but must remain on leash at all times. If your dog is reactive or does not enjoy making friends, please consider pet care alternatives for the weekend.

Are meals included with admission? Should I bring my own food/provisions?

This year there will be two community meals – 1. No-heat breakfast bar on Saturday morning and 2. Dinner on Saturday evening. Be sure to pack food and provisions for the rest of the weekend. There will be water stations throughout the campground for all attendees to help themselves, but we encourage everyone to bring 1 gallon of water per person, per day.

What amenities will be available? Will there be restrooms, potable water, cell service, etc?

There is spotty cell service dependent on your carrier, as well as, public restrooms, running water, and limited access to showers. There is no wifi at Black Oak Ranch. There is a small market in Laytonville for last-minute supplies, but the closest real grocery store is in Willits about 30 min away.

What will the weather be like? Should I plan for severe/inclement weather?

We encourage you to come prepared for anything! However, more commonly, we expect to see temperatures somewhere close to 85 and sunny during the days, and 45 and chilly during the evenings. Pack sunscreen, a jacket and everything in between!

What about waste? Will the campsite have garbage/recycling or do I need to pack out my own?

Following our motto of "Love People, Love Nature" we want to do our best to keep the land and our community spaces clean. There will be bins for garbage and recycling in communal areas. However, we ask that you bring a garbage bag or two to have at your personal campsite, and practice leave-no-trace ethics throughout the weekend. We're always aiming to leave our environment better than we found it and appreciate your help in doing so!

I tow a trailer with my iKamper on it, can I bring that?

Yes, we just ask that you try to keep to your allotted space of 20x20 to be respectful of others' space.

Are fires allowed in personal campsites?

Unfortunately, due to the potential of a burn ban, we are asking that people utilize our community firepit in order to ensure the safety of others.
