So far,I love the tent; it is fast and easy to set up and pack away. The materials and construction are fantastic, and the tent looks great too. I look forward to using the tent for the upcoming fall and winter camping seasons.
I've been wanting a RTT for 3 years now, and I didn't want to buy a cheaper tent to just have one. So last month labor day sale I made the purchase. I can honestly say, the nicest tent ever. The ikamper DLX construction,materials and all of the functions work perfectly. Easy to setup and take down. I will be enjoying camping even more now.
I felt like I needed to leave a review in order to explain how amazing my experience with iKamper's amazing customer service has been and how amazing the product is. Yes, I used amazing three times!
Backstory: My iKamper Skycamp DLX was delivered by the shipping company and my mom was home to sign for the package. She inspected the box as you are instructed by iKamper for damage. The box looked good and she signed to except the package. Later on that evening I returned home and rushed to go look at my new roof top tent. I also inspected the box an it looked in near perfect condition. I unpackaged and instantly noticed two cracks on the top shell on one corner. I didn't think much of it as I figured iKamper's customer service would probably just send a new top and it was still fully functional. After questioning my mom about all the details of the delivery she did mention that it was not on the pallet when he opened the door to remove it from the delivery truck. Red flag if this happens to you.
After installing and setting up the tent everything looked great, but as I put it back down I noticed it didn't close all the way on the side where the shell was cracked. After further inspection, I found that the frame had been bent along with the pole mounts on the front. The mounts where pushed up and dented into the frame. As well, the opposite corner also had a slight bend on the metal. All I can figure is it was dropped on that corner during transportation and the pallet had been so badly damaged that they had to remove it from the pallet. I highly recommend unboxing before signing, or at least before the driver has driven away. It usually takes a bit for these guys to load everything back up. I did it upon my replacement and the driver even helped me unbox.
I filed a damage claim immediately with the customer service department at iKamper and received an email back very quickly. I was a bit frustrated as we worked through the process of sending the pictures and explaining the damage, but Laura and Maggie were very professional and helped keep me calm as we worked through the process. It actually worked out in my favor, in more ways than one that it had been damaged. My wife and I realized we should have gone with the full size instead of the mini only after we had set it up. iKamper more than made it right for my troubles. We upgraded from the mini to the full size and iKamper threw in an accessory free of charge for my troubles. I went with the awning!
The tent is top quality and is as easy to set up and take down as I had hoped for. Far superior to my last roof top tent, and no zipper to navigate in single digit weather (my wife and I like to cross country ski). If you are on the fence about getting this product make the leap you won't regret it!
love my new RTT from IKamper! Great experience from start to finish with my purchase and delivery. Installation was straightforward and easy (need at least 2-3 people to lift it up and place on the vehicle). I can confirm the quality is everything I was hearing it was, which is great!
So far its good but the air down pump only worked 1 time and start making noise and braking inside now its hard to close the tent so
