How much does it cost to ship in the United States?

Roof top tents ship via palletized freight for $199 within the contiguous US, and we ship to Alaska (FAIRBANKS AND ANCHORAGE ONLY), Hawaii (Honolulu), and Puerto Rico for $800 + tax. For specific shipping information, please click HERE. Please note that accessory-only shipments have their own rates based on weight.

How much is international shipping?

We only ship within the United States. For orders outside of the US, please contact your local dealer. You can find a list of dealers HERE.

Can I pick up my order?

You can choose 'Pick up' as your Delivery Method when you checkout. We are happy to schedule a time with our warehouse to greet you to pick up your tent. Schedule a pickup by contacting us HERE.

Do you offer tent installation?

Absolutely, we're here to assist with installations at our Seattle Showroom. Complimentary basic installations are included with the purchase of a new tent for vehicles equipped with standard crossbars and bed bars. For more complex and older model installations, we charge $50 per hour, and estimates are available upon scheduling.

How long does it take to ship?

Delivery of a roof top tent generally takes one to two weeks (including handling), depending on your proximity to the warehouse from which it is shipped. Unfortunately, we're unable to offer expedited shipping options. Most accessories are delivered within a week.

I ordered a tent and my tracking information isn’t working! What should I do?

When an order is sent to our shipping partners, the shipment is assigned a tracking number, often in the form of a PRO or BOL number. These numbers will commence tracking about 24 to 48 hours after the shipment is actually picked up by the courier. Please allow more time for the tracking to commence.

I received my tent and it arrived damaged. What should I do?

iKamper packages its shipments with the utmost care, but freight damage can, unfortunately, occur in transit. Please follow the steps below to have the best experience:

1. Upon delivery, please carefully inspect the shipment, and take pictures of any scratches, dents, and punctures. If the damage appears severe, we recommend that you refuse the delivery altogether so that we can send you a replacement unit.

2. IMPORTANT: Note on the delivery receipt if there are any damages, even if they seem light. Note the exact damages you are seeing. This is essential for a damage claim to be filed.

3. Send us photos of the damage (box and the actual product damage) and the delivery receipt, along with the specifics of the delivery. These must be sent within 48 hours of receiving your shipment.

Please contact iKamper support regarding your damaged tent using the form on THIS PAGE.

Will an iKamper roof top tent fit my vehicle?

We cannot give you a definitive answer on whether our RTTs will fit your particular vehicle due to the sheer number of racks and vehicle models on the market. The main requirements are that your vehicle roof and rack have a dynamic weight load of 165 lbs (75 kg) or more for the Skycamp 3.0 and Skycamp 2.0, a dynamic weight load of 125 lbs (57 kg) or more for the Skycamp 2X, Skycamp Mini, and the X-Cover, 175 lbs (79 kg) for the BDV Duo, and 150 lbs (55 kg) for the BDV Solo. ( In addition, your cross bars need to be at least 30” / 76 cm apart (22” / 55 cm apart for the Skycamp Mini). You can find your vehicle’s roof dynamic weight load in your vehicle's user manual, or alternatively by contacting the manufacturer.

How much weight can the tents hold?

They hold about 900 lbs (408 kg), and the ladder can hold 330 lbs (150 kg). The limit is mostly your roof rack / crossbars.

How much does the Skycamp 3.0 weigh?

About 165 lbs (75 kg).

How much does the Skycamp 2.0 weigh?

About 155 lbs (70 kg).

How much does the Skycamp 2X weigh?

About 120 lbs (55 kg).

How much do the BDV models weigh?

The BDV Solo weighs about 140 lbs (64 kg).

The BDV Duo weighs about 175 lbs (79 kg).

How much does the X-Cover weigh?

About 150 lbs (55 kg).

How much does the Skycamp Mini weigh?

About 125 lbs (57 kg).

How can 4 people fit in the Skycamp if my crossbars' weight limit is only 165 lbs (75 kg)?

Most crossbars and roof racks give their dynamic weight load, which is the weight they can carry when you're driving (i.e. if your cross bars have a dynamic weight load of 165 lbs (75 kg), you shouldn't put anything heavier than that on your bars when you're driving). Because other forces (wind, braking, bumps, etc.) are at work when you're driving, the static weight load (weight limit when you're parked) is actually much higher than the dynamic weight load.

How easy are the tents to mount and unmount?

Very easy! You can mount and unmount them using just one bolt wrench (spanner) anytime you want. iKamper roof top tents can be loaded and unloaded by 2-3 people. The first time you mount the tent on your vehicle, it will take less than 30 minutes and once you get the hang of it, less than 10 minutes.

Can the tents be mounted on a pickup truck bed?

Yes, they can. You will need a bed rack or cross bars to mount the tent. Please check out the tents’ dimensions and mounting instructions.

Is mounting hardware included?

Yes, mounting hardware is included with any purchase of a rooftop tent. Our updated 3.0 Mounting Brackets are included with our Skycamp 3.0 models and X-Cover 2.0 models. 2.0 Mounting Brackets are included with the Skycamp 2.0 models as the 3.0 Mounting Brackets will not work for these models. These brackets are compatible with a max crossbar height of 1.2" (3 cm), width of 3.5" (9 cm). For higher cross bars, 1.0 Mounting Brackets should be used. Additional mounting brackets are available for purchase on our website in the cases that customers or dealers require additional brackets.

What kind of rack / crossbars do I need?

With their universal mounting system, iKamper roof top tents can be mounted on most racks and cross bars on the market. They are designed to be mounted on two normal cross bars (not directly on the roof of the car), such as ones from Thule, Yakima, or any other aftermarket cross bars ( the same bars you would attach your bike or kayak to) or roof/bed rack.

Check your vehicle's manual or contact the manufacturer to find your roof's dynamic weight limit.

Make sure your roof/bed rack or cross bars have a dynamic weight load of at least 165 lbs (75 kg) for the Skycamp 3.0 and Skycamp 2.0, 125 lbs (57 kg) or more for the Skycamp 2X, Skycamp Mini, and the X-Cover, 175 lbs (79 kg) for the BDV Duo, and 150 lbs (55 kg) for the BDV SoloYour crossbars should be at least 30" (76 cm) apart (front to back), with a maximum distance of 60” (150 cm).

Check the spacing of the mounting rails below to make sure it fits your rack. The iKamper mounting rails are 1.77" (4.5 cm) wide.

I found an iKamper roof top tent for much cheaper on a different website; is it legit?

Buyer Beware! Several online shops (mostly of Chinese origin), which often place ads on Facebook and Instagram, claim to sell iKamper rooftop tents (usually the Skycamp 1.0, which is no longer sold in the United States) for prices as low as 10% of the going prices. Their shops often look identical to the iKamper website, using the same photographs, videos, and descriptions of our products. Unfortunately, these are not authorized sellers and do not actually sell iKamper products. In fact, some customers who have fallen prey to these fraudulent websites have written us to say that they never even received any product at all after paying. Their attempts to get their money back are often met with silence from the "sellers." Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it likely is!

If you are in doubt about the validity of a website that claims to sell iKamper products, check iKamper's list of authorized dealers and distributors here.
If you still have doubts or want further information, please contact the iKamper support team at support@ikamper.com.

Is it normal to have condensation in my tent? What can I do to prevent it?

Simply put, all tents will incur condensation at some point. Our tents are a breathable 300gsm poly-cotton canvas and the rainfly is a waterproof polyester 150D. Although our tents are designed to keep the weather out, condensation can still naturally form without proper ventilation.

What causes condensation in tents?

Air temperature in the tent can become warm and humid from people, heaters, and a lack of ventilation. When the warm air inside the tent hits the cool fabric of the tent, the moisture condenses into a liquid.

How much condensation can form in a tent?

Did you know that one person can produce up to 1 pint of condensation per night? So, let’s say you have 3 people in your Skycamp; that’s potentially 3 pints of water inside your tent! Other likely sources of moisture are wet shoes, clothes, dogs, and even the air itself. Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air, so as the temperature falls at night, the more moisture is released into the air.

What weather conditions can make condensation worse?

Condensation can be made worse when the air outside the tent is significantly cooler than inside, especially after a warm, humid day. On days where there is a substantial temperature drop, it can be challenging to prevent tent condensation forming. Rainy conditions can also increase the chances of condensation occurring, often leading to the appearance of a leaking tent. Rain water on the outside of the tent causes the temperature of the fabric to decrease, leading to more rapid condensation as the air inside the tent comes into contact with it.

How can I prevent condensation?

Ventilate your tent: The most effective way to prevent condensation is ventilation. Having the proper airflow helps humidity escape the tent.

Mind where you setup your tent: Avoid camping near streams, lakes, ponds, or in wet or marshy areas where the humidity is higher. Yes, it’s nice to camp next to a water source, but this is a condensation trap.

Remove wet items: Take other wet items out of your tent and let them dry in a vehicle, sun, or other locations besides your tent.
