Skycamp 3.0 Mini

The DLX tents come with 2 light bars (inside and behind the ladder), cork flooring, air mattress, Airdown, and the Rocky Black shell.

Unfortunately, we can not recommend mounting anything to the top of our Skycamp series hard-shell tents due to the design and build of the fiberglass hard-shell. Doing so would void the warranty for the tent as well as potentially compromise the structural/functional integrity of the unit.

The hard shell of the Skycamp is made of FRP (fiber-reinforced plastic) and has TWO layers for extra insulation and strength. The hard shell that protects your Skycamp on the road is made of fiber-reinforced plastic and has a double layer with built-in air insulation, making it soundproof and condensation resistant. Most rooftop tents have a single-layer shell.

You can, but it will all depend on the size and materials of the bedding. The larger end of the shell is the best area. We recommend doing a test run of your gear before you hit the road. Your goal is to still be able to close the tent without issue or strain.

Yes, the Skycamp series has 2 locking latches on the shell. For more protection, add the Bracket Locks to your mounting hardware.

Yes, there is a ladder foot cover provided with each tent. This will ensure protection of the vinyl layer on the rainfly from coming in contact with the rubber ladder feet. Not doing so can result in a damaged or discolored rainfly.

We advise to not let feet of snow constantly sit on their tent, this can affect the shell’s (Rocky & Glossy) coloring over time.

Hardshell Glossy, Care and prevention.

iKamper hard shells are made of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Polymer), the material of choice because of its light weight, strength, and durability. FRP has a gel coat layer and needs to be maintained, so please follow the steps below for long-term use of your shell:

- Once a month, apply the protective wax. This product is specifically adapted for FRP and gel coat surfaces and will keep your hard-shell glossy.

- In case of snow, do not allow it to rest on top of the shell for extended periods of time.

Following the instructions above will prevent mineral deposits caused by rain/snow/dew and photo-oxidation caused by strong UV rays.

Rocky shells can be cleaned with mild soap and a scrub brush. 

They hold about 900 lbs (408 kg), and the ladder can hold 330 lbs (150 kg). The limit is mostly your roof rack / crossbars.

We cannot give you a definitive answer on whether our RTTs will fit your particular vehicle due to the sheer number of racks and vehicle models on the market. The main requirements are that your vehicle roof and rack have a dynamic weight load of 165 lbs (75 kg) or more for the Skycamp 3.0 and Skycamp 2.0, a dynamic weight load of 125 lbs (57 kg) or more for the Skycamp 2X, Skycamp Mini, and the X-Cover, 175 lbs (79 kg) for the BDV Duo, and 150 lbs (55 kg) for the BDV Solo. ( In addition, your cross bars need to be at least 30” / 76 cm apart (22” / 55 cm apart for the Skycamp Mini). You can find your vehicle’s roof dynamic weight load in your vehicle's user manual, or alternatively by contacting the manufacturer.

With their universal mounting system, iKamper roof top tents can be mounted on most racks and cross bars on the market. They are designed to be mounted on two normal cross bars (not directly on the roof of the car), such as ones from Thule, Yakima, or any other aftermarket cross bars ( the same bars you would attach your bike or kayak to) or roof/bed rack.  Check your vehicle's manual or contact the manufacturer to find your roof's dynamic weight limit.  Make sure your roof/bed rack or cross bars have a dynamic weight load of at least 165 lbs (75 kg) for the Skycamp 3.0 and Skycamp 2.0, 125 lbs (57 kg) or more for the Skycamp 2X, Skycamp Mini, and the X-Cover, 175 lbs (79 kg) for the BDV Duo, and 150 lbs (55 kg) for the BDV SoloYour crossbars should be at least 30" (76 cm) apart (front to back), with a maximum distance of 60” (150 cm).  Check the spacing of the mounting rails below to make sure it fits your rack. The iKamper mounting rails are 1.77" (4.5 cm) wide.

Very easy! You can mount and unmount them using just one bolt wrench (spanner) anytime you want. iKamper roof top tents can be loaded and unloaded by 2-3 people. The first time you mount the tent on your vehicle, it will take less than 30 minutes and once you get the hang of it, less than 10 minutes.

Yes, mounting hardware is included with any purchase of a rooftop tent. Our updated 3.0 Mounting Brackets are included with our Skycamp and X-Cover Series models. The BDV comes with its own BDV mounting hardware, however it is not compatible with other mounting brackets. These brackets are compatible with a max crossbar height of 1.2" (3 cm), width of 3.5" (9 cm). For higher cross bars, 1.0 Mounting Brackets should be used. Additional mounting brackets are available for purchase on our website in the cases that customers or dealers require additional brackets.

Delivery of a roof top tent generally takes one to two weeks (including handling), depending on your proximity to the warehouse from which it is shipped. Unfortunately, we're unable to offer expedited shipping options. Most accessories are delivered within a week.
